Reporting

Reports a bookkeeper could kiss.

AR aging, product margins, inventory valuation and a live dashboard — all native to the same database your orders and stock run on.

The reel: AR Aging → Product Margin Analysis → Inventory Valuation → Dashboard.
The four questions

Every week, four questions decide the week.

Who owes me?

AR aging lays receivables out by age band. The follow-up list writes itself — before the cash-flow pinch, not during it.

What actually makes money?

Product Margin Analysis ranks products by the margin they really carry — not the margin the price list implies. It routinely changes what gets pushed.

What is my stock worth?

Inventory Valuation prices stock on hand at cost — the number the accountant asks for, native to the same ledger as every order.

How is today going?

The live dashboard: revenue, orders, stock in motion. The morning-coffee check, no exports required.

The reporting tax you stop paying

In most small operations, “reporting” is a tax paid in exports: export orders, export stock, massage into a spreadsheet, present a number that was true on Tuesday. BSimple charges no such tax — inventory, orders, purchasing and customers share one database, so reports are queries against operational truth.

The accounting side stays in your accounting package by design: approved invoices sync to Xero (or MYOB), where reconciliation happens. Operations report in BSimple; the books reconcile in Xero; neither disagrees with the other.

Questions

Reporting FAQs

What reports does BSimple include?

The core reel covers Accounts Receivable aging, Product Margin Analysis, Inventory Valuation and a live dashboard — plus order, stock and campaign reporting throughout the system.

Why does native reporting matter?

Because the reports don’t reconcile against the system — they are the system. When orders, stock and purchasing share one database, a margin report needs no imports and can’t disagree with the stock ledger.

Can I see who owes me money?

Yes — AR aging shows receivables by age band, so the follow-up list writes itself before the cash-flow pinch arrives.

Does the dashboard update live?

Yes — the dashboard reflects live operational data: revenue, orders and stock in motion. It is the same screen featured in BSimple’s product animations.
