The why

Built by business owners, for business owners.

BSimple is a new skin on a product that has been in development for the better part of 13 years. It started because running a business was harder than the software allowed it to be.

How it started

In 2016, David Thomas bought a local packaging business servicing the Sunshine Coast and discovered what every owner discovers: the admin side of packaging is the hardest thing. Somewhere in the first couple of months, a vision was born of what the business could run like — driven by software instead of spreadsheets.

A few years later, a coffee roaster who was a customer approached David personally: “Hey, can you build me something like your platform?” Six months and a shoestring budget later the duplicate system was up. Then three more roasters asked. That was the signal — the large incumbents were expensive and limited in flexibility, and there was a real gap in between.

David undertook a major redevelopment using a data-structure separation technique called “Slicing” — pioneered by Xero — which allows complete data separation, simple spin-ups and drastically reduced support overhead. BSimple launched during COVID-19 and has been taking businesses’ admin load off ever since.

The approach

It’s all in the name.

Take the complexity out of technology so customers can do what they want, easily and straightforwardly. For order-and-stock businesses, that boils down to four core interactions:

Payment

Make it easy. Credit card, automatic, no fees. Get paid.

Take orders

Any time, any place, mobile-focused. Customers love the simplicity.

Engage

Regular invitations to order via SMS and email keep the book full.

Inventory

The only errors that should exist are human ones — and BSimple is designed to make even those rare.

Why owners switch

The incumbents are expensive and rigid. Spreadsheets are free and dangerous.

BSimple sits deliberately in between: serious enough to run a wholesale operation, simple enough that your team actually uses it, and priced for a real Australian business — from $180/month ex GST with the full feature set.

  • Every feature on every plan — no feature ransom
  • Xero, MYOB and Shopify integrations included
  • Australian support that answers the phone: 1300 980 598
  • Data separation (“Slicing”) means fast, reliable spin-ups
The proof is in the reports: AR aging → margins → valuation → live dashboard.
Questions

Why-BSimple FAQs

Who built BSimple?

BSimple was built by David Thomas, a business owner who ran a packaging company on the Sunshine Coast and built the software he couldn’t buy. It has been in development, in one form or another, for the better part of 13 years.

What does ‘built by business owners’ actually mean?

It means the roadmap is driven by running a business, not by a feature checklist. Order invitations, live stock checks and one-click approvals exist because real businesses needed them to survive admin, not because they demo well.

Is BSimple only for coffee roasters and packagers?

No — those are the industries it grew up in, so it is strongest for makers and movers: food manufacturing, brewing, packaging, wholesale and distribution. If you take orders and hold stock, it fits.

Where is BSimple made?

BSimple is made in Australia — developed on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and supported by people who answer the phone on 1300 980 598.
